Purchased from the original adult owner, this Civic Si is about as clean as they come. 147,300 miles on the clock. Comprehensive service records in hand including the original purchase invoice from Herson’s Honda dated 4/29/06. The vehicle has been well cared for all its life, with no accidents and all original paintwork. Regular maintenance was performed at Auto Centro in Rockville. Inspection certificate in hand.
From Car & Driver’s review published March 2006, “Cornering is about as neutral as you can find on a front-driver, and with the limited-slip differential, power can be put down at any time. The Honda resists understeer with a tenacity lacking in other front-drive cars. It almost always will happily tighten its line with the mere application of more steering.”
Overall Condition
Overall condition of this car, especially when considering the mileage, is exceptional. The paint finish has a high gloss and the interior is spotless. The engine revs hard to redline and the transmission shifts smoothly. The care taken by the previous owner is readily apparent.
Exterior
This angular little sports coupe is finished in a beautiful shade of Galaxy Grey Metallic. All original paint, no accidents and no resprays. A short front overhang lends an aggressive appearance and allows for ample clearance over bumps and angled driveways. The 17-inch split 5-spoke alloys fill the wheel wells nicely, and along with the rear spoiler, give the car a sporty-look which sets the Si apart from the lower trim levels in the Civic range. The subtle i-VTEC decal along the rockers gives those in-the-know a hint about what lurks beneath the hood. The car has a few minor rock chips on the hood which have been touched up with OEM Honda paint.
Interior
The interior is factory clean, with very supportive Si-specific sport seats finished in black cloth. Red stitching on the door cards gives passengers another hint at the sports car roots of the Si. The unique two-level dash is both futuristic and functional. The stereo features an in-dash CD player and has good sound for a vehicle in this price range. Other interior features include steering wheel-integrated controls for the audio system and cruise control.
Drivetrain
The high-revving K20 4-cylinder motor produces 197hp and screams to its 7800rpm redline. Featuring its signature VTEC system, this car feels spirited and lively, while retaining outstanding drivability and reliability for cruising. The transmission shifts smoothly with easy effort and a satisfying shifter feel. This particular car has enjoyed synthetic oil changes all its life and received a brand new clutch at ~113k.
Other/Modifications
While mostly factory stock, this Honda does come equipped with a few carefully selected, and well-proven modifications. First, a Mugen catback exhaust system was installed to provide the car with a sporty exhaust note which does not drone or attract too much attention. Fans of modified imports will recognize the Mugen name as one of the premiere tuning houses for Hondas – truly a piece of the highest quality. Additionally, the car features a Hondata ECU reflash, 4-2-1 design header, big bore throttle body, power slot rotors, and a CT Engineering short ram intake. All are reliable modifications from reputable tuning brands which wake up the performance of an already fun-to-drive vehicle.
