Alex Witkin has been deeply involved with the automotive aftermarket and the collector car world for the past 20+ years; having designed, built and campaigned one of the most successful Subaru show cars in the United States. The Subaru WRX, has taken home over 100 awards and has appeared in several major international publications, including: Super Street, Import Tuner, PAS Mag, Fast Car, and Modified Magazine. Alex also co-founded Brainchild Customs, formerly an e-commerce destination for Subaru parts and accessories.

Prior to forming Performance Auto Gallery, Alex worked for several years in venture capital, finance, accounting and operations functions at leading healthcare consulting firms in the DC Metro area.

Alex obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Japanese American Automotive Studies) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business. 

In addition to his significant knowledge of, and experience with, the European collector car market (Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Audi, Lamborghini, VW, Mercedes-Benz, etc.), Alex has a personal affinity for, and expertise in, both classic and modern Japanese performance car markets (Subaru, Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Datsun, Acura, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, etc.). 

Alex has significant experience with, and an in-depth knowledge of turbocharged Subarus including the WRX, STi, and Legacy GT platform. He is a subject matter expert with a specific specialization in US-Spec GD-series Imprezas (02-03 WRX, and 04-07 STi). An avid collector of Subarus himself, Alex is committed to locating and bringing only the very best examples of these special cars to market.
