Vehicle Description
200Tdi-Powered 1992 Range Rover Classic 2-Door
Overview
This 1992 Range Rover Classic is a left-hand-drive, two-door example that underwent a comprehensive restoration and mechanical refurbishment in Spain before being imported to the US in 2026. Finished in Burgundy Red over Camel leatherette and Alcantara, the truck is powered by a replacement 2.5-liter 200Tdi turbodiesel inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a 2” Terrafirma lift, Brembo brake components, Hella fog lights, and 16" wheels with BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires. This RRC is now offered with a clean Maryland title.
The 300Tdi Conversion & History
The current owner acquired the vehicle from its original (and only) owner in Portugal, where it had been stored in a quinta (country house) near Lisbon. During previous ownership, the original VM Motori engine was replaced with a 2.5-liter 200Tdi turbodiesel engine. Known for its reliability and ease of service for global overlanding, the 300Tdi installation features improved engine mounts and acoustic covers for a quieter, smoother driving experience compared to the original powerplant.
Restoration
In Spain, Madrid-based specialist Classic Landy’s was commissioned to perform a frame-up restoration. Work included:
Exterior
The body was repainted in Burgundy Red, a more vibrant evolution of the factory shade. The hood and trunk-lid letters were replaced with solid metal letters. A new lower spoiler was installed at which time the Hella Comet 550 fog lights were added. A full repaint in Burgundy Red, a more vibrant of the factory shade.
Interior
The cabin was completely overhauled with a focus on premium materials:
The truck’s stance and capability were enhanced with the following:
The 2.5-liter 300Tdi turbodiesel inline-four was removed from the vehicle and underwent a comprehensive, documented rebuild. Work performed included:
The cooling and auxiliary systems were fully overhauled to ensure reliability:
The six-digit odometer was reset to zero following the completion of the restoration and mechanical overhaul. The true chassis mileage is unknown; however, the last recorded mileage prior to the refurbishment was approximately 208,000 miles.
This Range Rover is offered with a clean Maryland title in the owner’s name. All invoices for the work performed and the parts acquired are available, as are dozens of photographs of the rebuild process.
