Performance Auto Gallery is pleased to offer for sale this beautiful example of an unmolested, 100% original early “Flying Mirror” 1986 Ferrari Testarossa. Purchased from a private collection in Pennsylvania, this gorgeous Testarossa (Chassis no. ZFFSA17A9G0065189) has seen only 15,600 original miles.
Originally sold by Steven Kessler Motor Cars in New York on 9/22/1986 to Roy E. Robertson of Moorestown, NJ – the car was serviced per the manual at 1700-2000 miles (on 12/8/1986) and again at 7,500 miles (on 1/8/1988). Held in his collection and not offered for sale since 1988, the previous owner took spectacular care of the car, always keeping it garaged. The 375-hp Flat 12-cylinder motor runs and drives like an absolute dream; it fires right up with no leaks or smoking and revs smoothly through the range. The classic 5-speed gated transmission clinks into to gear smoothly with no grinding. Clutch feel is excellent.
Completely original all the way down to the factory-equipped, date coded Goodyear tires. Paint shows no indication of any previous paint work – overall in amazing original condition. The only notable exterior flaws are two minor dings that been touched up on each quarter panel (pictured) and a small impression on the lower valence (below left tailpipe). Very limited rock chipping on front edge of front bumper (pictured).
A recent 15k-mile engine out service was performed 20 miles ago, which included: valve cover gaskets, timing belts, cam seals, air filters, fuel filters, oil filter, accessory and AC belts, etc…
The light tan (Crema) and brown interior is in beautiful all original condition and looks like new with the exception of slight shrinkage around the windshield defrost vents. The steering wheel and other leather surfaces are soft and supple to the touch and appear like new. Original Nakamichi tape deck is present and all gauges are functional and working properly!
