1958 Chevrolet Corvette 283/230 4-Speed for sale in Rockville MD

Offered for sale is this beautiful 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 283/230 4-Speed finished in Signet Red with Snowcrest White side coves with white soft top and optional color-matched hard top. This C1 is powered by its numbers-matching carbureted 283ci V8 mated to an optional (for 1958) 4-speed manual transmission and 3.70:1 Positraction rear end. The 5-digit odometer shows 1,053miles (TMU). Believed to be just 1 of 756 built in 1958 in this color combination.



This Corvette was treated to a thorough restoration completed under prior ownership and is believed to have been redone in it’s original color combination. The car has lived most recently in a private museum/collection in Maryland. The sale includes a clean Maryland title.



This numbers-matching C1 wears Chassis Number J58S101089 and is equipped with its number’s matching 283ci (230hp) V8 with 4bbl carburetor wearing Engine Number FII08CQ, built November 8, 1958 at the Flint Plant. The Optional 4-Speed Transmission is stamped “T10-7A” and dated October 5, 1957. The Positraction rear end is stamped with 3743833, J187, and AN1023 indicating a Posi 3.70:1 rear end built on October 18, 1957.



1958 was the first year for dual headlights. Additional chrome trim including headlight bezels and rear decklid ‘suspenders’ were also added for the model year along with a 9-tooth radiator grill and a non-functional louvered hood design. This C1 is equipped with the optional removable hardtop in matching Signet Red.
