Channeling its long history in motorsport; Ford says “the[RS] line has been an essential element of Ford’s DNA, delivering technical innovation and performance on road and track. EXTERIOR: 10/10 – The incredible four-stage Nitrous Blue Metallic paintwork was offered from the factory as an optional extra. Pictures don’t do it justice, the metallic pop and depth of shine is truly remarkable. Optional black-painted 10-spoke 19” forged wheels wrapped in sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires contrast nicely against the blue paint work. High performance Brembo brake calipers are finished in matching blue. No flaws.


INTERIOR: 10/10 - The interior of this Focus RS is spec’ed with the top of the range $2800 RS2 Package which adds eight-way power driver’s seat, partial-leather for the Recaro seats, heated door mirrors, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and navigation. The extremely comfortable Recaro seats are finished in Black leather with alcantara inserts with blue-stitching. Factory plastic covering remains on the Navigation screen as well as the door sills and lower door cards as delivered to the original dealer. Ford’s SYNC systems allows “provides access to audio, navigation, climate control and mobile phones via voice control, and via a high-definition, 8-inch color touch screen. SYNC can be specified with rear view camera with park distance control, as well as a Sony premium sound system with 10-speakers including a subwoofer.” No flaws.


DRIVETRAIN: 10/10 – The Focus RS is powered by a 350-hp Turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost 4-cylinder (winner of Wards 10 Best Engine Award 2017) mated to a proper 6-speed manual transmission. Powered meets the road via Ford Performance’s All Wheel Drive system utilizing Dynamic Torque Vectoring which is said to improve turn-in and reduce understeer. Drive modes are adjustable to suit the situation and includes the infamous “Drift” mode. 0-60 in 4.6 seconds!
