Offered for sale is this stylish 1972 BMW 3.0CSi finished in Silver paintwork over Blue upholstery. This European-spec car is fitted with a fuel injected 3.0L engine mated to a proper manual gearbox. This particular car recently came out of an estate collection where it has been since 2003 - records of the work done by the previous owner are limited, but a number of fresh OEM parts are apparent with a visual inspection. The 3.0CS/CSi (E9) was originally sold in the United States from 1970-1974 by famous dealer/importer Max Hoffman, who later sold his rights to BMW North America in 1975.

EXTERIOR: The sleek exterior has been resprayed in Silver in 2003; and presents well overall with a nice shine. The glass and chrome trim are in excellent shape. A lowered suspension settles the BMW's body atop period BBS mesh wheels which are fitted with BMW center caps and wrapped in newer Michelin tires. A handful of imperfections in the paintwork are noted in the gallery. One BBS wheel shows a minor bend on the outer lip. One headlight lens and one rear brake light lens have minor cracks which do not affect functionality.





INTERIOR: Inside the 3.0CSi, blue velour seats provided a bold and stylish contrast to the silver exterior. A wood trimmed dash is in good shape overall and shows well with only minor delamination on the wood trim, specifically on the door panels. An Alpina/Momo steering wheel is fitted. Ignition has been converted to a push-button located under the dash. Seats, carpet and headliner show reasonable wear commensurate with use and age as detailed in the gallery. An Alpine headunit replaces the factory unit. The battery has been relocated to the blue-carpeted trunk, and has just been replaced. The tool kit lid is cracked, however the kit is largely complete. Also in the trunk is a complete set of factory service manuals - carefully printed and organized in binders.



DRIVETRAIN/UNDERCARRIAGE: The 3.0L 6-cylinder engine starts easily and runs well and is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Recent mechanical servicing includes: Oil and Filter, Differential service, drain and clean fuel tank, coolant flush, engine breather hoses, ignition coil, and new battery.
